The Project

A few words from David Ryan

Although I work at the Hospital as the Director of Clinical & Support Services my involvement in this film is as a community member wanting to support the local hospital. I have both a professional and personal involvement in the hospital. My 2 children Daniel & Madeline were born at Bowral Hospital and as a family we have had to use the services of the hospital on a few occasions. As an example, both Daniel & Madeline have had broken arms as active young children are want to do.

Did you know that Children’s Ward is not the only place that provides children with care at Bowral Hospital? We have about 700 births a year in Maternity, a large number of the patients needing care through our Emergency Department are children and Allied Health provides care for children. Allied health includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Social Work to name a few.

Participating in the making of Wishbone is a great way for the community to help raise money for the Children’s Ward of Bowral Hospital, as well as an opportunity for individuals to experience the film industry first hand.

This film is an amazing way to support the local hospital but there are many ways you can support your local hospital. One way is when you’re a patient at Bowral Hospital use your private insurance if you have it. For every private patient the hospital receives funds from the relevant health fund that comes back to the hospital for use.

We live in a great community! Please come and be part of this wonderful film and I look forward to seeing you at the movies.
